Help me save homeless and abused animals
Many of you know me as HSHV's Chief Operating Officer and former director of the Animal Cruelty and Emergency Rescue Department.
I'm also a Detroit firefighter. That’s where my passion for animal rescue began.
While responding to an alert, we found a dog doused in lighter fluid and lit on fire. At that moment, I understood how cruel people could be to animals. We luckily saved the pup (who I adopted and named Angel). I stayed up all night thinking about her pain and decided to do something to help animals suffering from abuse.
I started working at HSHV to ensure that animals like Angel are protected and their abusers are brought to justice.
My job shows me the worst of humanity. A person beating their dog... abandoning their cat... chaining a dog outside without food and water... neighbors who suspect dog fighting on their street... are all examples of calls that we receive every day.
Animal Cruelty Investigations and Emergency Rescues are 100% funded by donations from people like you. Without community support, hundreds of animal cruelty complaints and thousands of calls to help sick/injured animals would go unanswered each year.
Your gift allows us to fight for and give new chances to animals that are deliberately hurt, injured, or unwanted.
