Cruelty & Rescue

Our Cruelty Investigators investigate reports of animal cruelty in Washtenaw County. Our Emergency Rescue staff responds to calls about sick and injured stray animals or wildlife.

This department operates solely on donations from the community. We could not provide these services without the generosity of our donors. Please consider making a donation to investigate cruelty and provide emergency rescue.

Services

  • Emergency Rescue – Our Emergency Rescue staff rescues sick or injured animals, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year in Washtenaw County.
  • Animal Cruelty Investigations – HSHV Cruelty Investigators protect the innocent by responding to reports of animal cruelty and working with the Prosecutor's Office to prosecute offenders.
  • Report Suspected Abuse or Neglect – If you believe you've witnessed a crime involving animals, please fill out the following form.
  • Humane Wildlife Removal - For affordable, skilled and humane wildlife removal services please call HSHV at (734) 661-3512
