Group Programs

HSHV offers Humane Education programs for children of all ages. Here are some of our great programs for groups and schools:

Party Animal Birthday Parties (ages 5-12):

Are you looking for a PAW-tastic place to celebrate a birthday? Then come and celebrate your special day with the party animals at the Humane Society of Huron Valley! Our "purrfect" birthday parties are available for those who are celebrating their 5th through 12th birthday and include a shelter tour, craft, animal-themed games and an interactive educational presentation with one of our adoptable animals! Parties are available on Saturdays and Sundays and book up 6-8 weeks in advance, so schedule early!  For more information, please take a look at our Party Animal Hosting Packet. If you are interested in booking a party, please complete the birthday party request form. We can't wait to "paw-ty" with you and your family!   Call now to book your winter parties!

Shelter Tours

Does your group want a tour of the Humane Society of Huron Valley?  We offer a 60 minute educational tour to both youth and adults that have a natural connection with animals and would like to promote animal compassion and kindness.

For more information about age-appropriate shelter tours, please complete the tour request form. Our humane educator will contact you to schedule your visit. Groups should be limited to no more than 20 people with a 1:5 ratio of adults. Please remember when selecting your date to visit that we are currently scheduling at least 2 weeks out. Tours of HSHV are available Monday through Friday and on Sunday during normal business hours. Tours are not available on Saturdays. There is $3 per person fee for shelter tours.

Scout Programs

Is your scout group working towards earning a badge? HSHV offers a 2 hour scout program that includes a shelter tour, humane education lesson on how animals communicate through body language, a volunteer activity and animal interaction. The program is $7 per person (including children, siblings and adults) and is available Sunday, Mondays and Fridays. Due to space limitations, we can accomodate up to 20 children and up to 5 adults per program. Please complete our scout program request form to begin scheduling your program.   All 2015 dates are full at this time. We are now booking 2016 dates.

Classroom Field Trips

Would your students like to enrich their learning by visiting the Humane Society of Huron Valley? In our field trip program, students will participate in two hours of hands on animal fun led by our humane education staff and volunteers! The program includes an interactive shelter tour, a humane education lesson, enrichment toy making for our furry friends and an animal interaction which teaches youth how to safely handle and approach animals. Our programs can be adapted to be suitable for grades K-8 and meet many Common Core Standards. Field trips are available Monday through Friday from either 10-12pm or 1-3pm and are $7 per person (up to 3 adults are free). Due to space limitations we have a maximum of 40 children and 8 adults per program. Please fill out the field trip request form to inquire about available dates and times.
