Forward Thinking Youth Makes a BIG Difference

Lola loves animals

At HSHV when we work with children, we like to explain to them some of the super powers that they have that adults don’t.  Kids can see further, they can hear better, and their noses are stronger than adults. They also have a special ability to see the world, nature, and the animals within it truly, without the tint of adulthood and cynicism.  Lola, who just celebrated her eight birthday, is a great example of one of our super kind kids who love HSHV.

Lola really likes to come and visit HSHV because she loves all animals.  That is why when her friends and family brought her cash for her birthday, she took action.  Instead of spending that money on a fleeting pleasure like toys or clothing, Lola realized she could have a lasting effect.  She invested that money at HSHV and gave us about $400 dollars to spend on the animals care and comfort!  We think she recognizes the good feeling that will stay with her throughout her life when she looks back fondly at her eighth birthday, and sees all the good she did.  Thank you, Lola!
