She and Ninja are becoming great friends

I've been wanting to write to update on how Posie is doing. Posie (the brown tiger mix) has been adapting very well to her new home. I am so delighted that we could FINALLY give Posie her forever home after spending nearly all of her baby life in the shelter and in foster homes.

At first, Posie was extremely skiddish, but within one week of separation, both Ninja and Posie were fighting with us to meet each other. It was so cute. We did a lot of scent swapping!

After one week, we continued to separate them when we wouldn't be home, and after three weeks, we caught them eating together, sleeping together and kissing/licking each other. Every now and then, they hiss at each other, but I think it's because Ninja loves Posie toooo much.. he follows her a lot.

I was so nervous to get Ninja a playmate. Ninja had a history of marking his territory and I thought it would start back up, BUT it hasn't. I haven't found one surprise since Posie has been home.

Just yesterday, I was cuddling with Posie and Ninja walked up and started kissing her face, and Posie started doing the same back while taking her two front paws and wrapping them around his neck.

I would say Posie is still getting use to the noises of the apartment, but she's curious and that's what we love about her. Ninja loves Posie and vice versa and I couldn't be happier with the outcome.

PS: We're thinking about changing her name to Punky Brewster because she can be spunky and Punky Brewster is a cute name for a cat. :)
