Detroit Public Television, HEART and HSHV Partner Together for PSA's Focused on Humane Education

Begin Watching on Thursday, April 4th on DPTV

Ann Arbor, MI:  The Humane Society of Huron Valley (HSHV) in partnership with HEART (Humane Education Advocates Reaching Teachers) have helped Detroit Public Television develop a series of PSA’s that focus on developing a more humane world through education.  You can see these PSA’s on Thursday evenings on Detroit Public Television beginning April 4th.

“We are deeply grateful to DPTV for their leadership and compassion on this very important topic,” said Tanya Hilgendorf, HSHV President & CEO.  “The best way to change attitudes about animals and their treatment within our society is through education. DPTV has a long-standing history of providing high quality, thought-provoking programming. This partnership is a wonderful opportunity to improve the lives of the most vulnerable among us.”

Detroit Public TV (Channel 56) presents three Thursdays with six of your favorite animal shows. Watch for DPTV’s one-minute “Be Humane” messages including six new ones around these and other programs. Thursday nights are being called Animals Have Feelings, Too – Be Humane®

“We were very excited to be involved with Detroit Public Television and HEART,” said Karen Patterson, Director of Humane Education at HSHV. “DPTV is known for providing parents with resources and tools to help their children develop into well-adjusted adults, and together with HEART, I think we’ve developed PSA’s that are a perfect blend of education and positive messaging around humane treatment of animals.”
