Hurry! Join us for Walk & Wag and Run by March 31st!

Get 25% OFF your registration fee

sarah douglas-siegelYou’re invited to Ann Arbor’s biggest party for pets and people!

Join us on May 18th  as we run, walk, play games, and have a blast with our furry friends. It’s the 34th annual Walk & Wag and Run, when we let dogs rule the grounds at Rolling Hills Park in Ypsilanti. Come with or without a dog!

We’ve set the bar high this year: to raise $150,000 for the most vulnerable animals in our community. The event is less than 2 months away and we have a long way to go before reaching our goal.

Please help us make this event a huge success by registering and helping us raise money.

Right now we have a limited-time registration discount.

If you register before March 31st and receive a 25% discount off your registration! And, you don’t even have to attend the event to make a difference in lives of homeless animals. Visit our Walk & Wag page now and get all the details you need. If you have any questions please call us at (734) 661-3536 or email joyj@hshv.org.

Hundreds of community members get involved each year, some who have adopted companion animals from HSHV, some that are volunteers or life-long donors, and still others who have come to realize that HSHV is a trusted and transparent animal welfare organization they can stand behind.

We recently spoke to Sarah Douglas-Siegel, a third-year supporter of Walk & Wag, who formed a team called “The Best Things in Life are Furry”.  Sarah told us about her passion for animals and why she looks forward to Walk & Wag every year.

“I am a law student at Wayne State University Law School. I have always loved dogs and animal rescue has been a passion of mine since childhood,” said Sarah. “My spouse (and Walk & Wag teammate), Jonah, is a PhD student at University of Michigan.  We have two rescue dogs, Dillon and Dakota. Dillon is a 6-year-old shepherd/pit bill mix, from a private rescue. He was rescued from an Ohio shelter as a puppy. He had medical issues from being kenneled for weeks without exercise but has since recovered after rehabilitation from splayed legs. We have had him since he was 8 weeks old. Dakota is our rescue dog from HSHV. We adopted her on March 12 of 2011, she was about 6 months old then. She is the love of our lives- and keeps us on our toes, too. We have been fundraising for HSHV for a few years now and we are always excited to get involved to support the work you do. It really is one of my favorite days of the year!”

If you haven’t gotten involved before or have been waiting to join, now is the time. Take advantage of the 25% discount and start helping homeless animals today. Thank you.
