Lucky
Now 15 and retired, but still a joy
You recently asked for Happy Tail tales. Here's one from the past.
Lucky (re-named) was adopted in spring of 2000. He was brought to HSHV with a crushed front paw. A local vet donated her time and amputated his left front leg, a surgery that HSHV could not afford at the time. I fostered and then, adopted Lucky. He never thought of himself as handicapped, nor did I. Once he healed, he ran and played like any two-year old dog. He became a therapy dog and inspired many people in re-hab facilities. He is now 15 years old and retired. He loves life, is happy and yappy. He taught me a lot about life. He has more friends than I do and thinks his name is "Oh, so cute". We both thank HSHV for being there.
