HSHV Veterinary Clinic Provides Many Discounts in February

HSHV recognizes World Spay Day 2013 with specials

The Humane Society of Huron Valley is mostly known because of our award-winning animal save rate - the best of all similarly-sized shelters in Michigan. But, many community members are not familiar with the state-of-the-art veterinary clinic that is and has been open to the public for over 25 years.

“There’s a false assumption that the veterinary clinic at HSHV is there only for the shelter animals,” said Cameron Richardson, HSHV Clinic Manager. “Some people also believe that the clinic can only be used by families that have adopted from HSHV. The fact is that the extremely talented, diversely-skilled, and experienced licensed veterinarians, seven in all, choose to dedicate their time to helping animals in need for our entire community.”

The public is welcome and encouraged to schedule an appointment with any of our veterinary gurus for anything from annual examinations, preventative medicine, routine dental cleanings, and heartworm testing to treatment of illnesses and injuries, orthopedic surgeries, and of course spay/neuter. Last year the HSHV veterinary team sterilized over 20,000 companion animals.

“I think it’s important to remind people that by becoming a regular customer and using HSHV’s veterinary services, they are actually giving back to the homeless animals in the community,” says Richardson. “The funds that are generated from the HSHV veterinary clinic go right back into the care of shelter animals at HSHV and support the life-saving programs and work provided by HSHV.

February is an important pet health month. World Spay Day, recognized by many countries as a reminder of the severe pet-overpopulation we all face, is on February 26, 2013. February is also “Pet Dental Health” month. The HSHV Veterinary Clinic will be offering these
