Violet (formerly Venus)  Violet (formerly Venus) We brought Violet home a few weeks ago, and she's already the household cuddler. She's getting to know her new sister slowly, and enjoying all her new toys. **The photo is of Emmy (the fluffy grey kitty) and Violet (the black kitty) hunting a squirrel through the window together** We adopted Violet from the Humane Society of Huron Valley on November 3rd. We went in knowing we wanted a black cat, preferrably about 1-3 years old, and with a sweet, friendly, laid-back personality. Violet (then Venus) fit the bill nicely, and we settled on her fairly quickly. As soon as she got home with us, she adopted us as her people and asked to be let out and explore. She and her big sister, Emmy (who used to be "Fufu" also adopted from HSHV) have been getting to know each other ever since and are slowly becoming good friends. There's still some grumbling and chasing each other around, but generally they are pretty content to leave each other to their own devices. Violet has been a huge cuddle-bug since day one, and she has slept on the bed with us every night since we first let her explore the bedroom, usually with a bit of face-sniffing and foot batting as she settles down. She also adores her jingle-ball toys and chasing her feather-on-a-stick toy all over the house. We recently discovered that she absolutely ADORES laser-pointers and will chase them for hours if we let her. Violet is still growing out of kitten-hood, so she's pretty hyper, but with enough play time she's tired enough to sleep quietly most of the night. |
