Looking forward to many more years with Dami

Dami in her new home.
Dami in her new home.

Dami is happy in her hew home.

Dami's been doing an excellent job learning all his commands in both Chinese and English. He's also very trustworthy around the house.  For the past ten days he hasn't been caged at night and we've been accident free (and nothing was destroyed, he's learned to only take things from his toy basket).

He's a big fan of car rides and every time we go out he wants to get in the car and go somewhere.  He's not much of a morning person. When I take him out at 7 am, he just looks at me like "I can hold it for a few more hours, go away and let me sleep." In the evening he has plenty of energy. He has more energy now that we've established a regular walking schedule (normally 3.5 hours of walking a day).

When it comes to mealtime, he has a refined palate, preferring the expensive Orijen dog food over Science Diet.  He's put on two more pounds, but when he visited the vet she said he didn't look overweight.  Rather it appears he's lost fat around his ribs, but put on muscle elsewhere.

He's made friends with some of the other dogs in the complex. He definitely prefers playing with big dogs, his best friend is an 80 pound Akita who he loves to play tug of war with even if he is just dragged all over the place.  When he sees the Akita walk by the apartment he'll pick his tug of war toy up in his mouth and run to the door.
