Benji - A Special Little Dog
He fills all of our hearts with joy
Not that long ago, a special little dog came to live with me. His name is Benji and at this point my family and I couldn't live without him. Benji is a real people dog; he knows the sounds of the cars of my three children and starts happily barking to greet them as they are pulling into my driveway. He is my constant companion when I'm home alone and will position himself right by my feet to stay close to me.
Often, Benji sits upright on the side of the couch with his paws on the bolster so he can look out of the big picture window in my living room and bark at any passing people or dogs. He takes the role of protector very seriously even though I have a burglar alarm installed in the house. Benji has come to really enjoy eating carrots as a snack and going on walks to survey the scents in the neighborhood.
For a little dog, he has a big personality. He fills all of our hearts with joy. People have asked me if I am sorry I didn't get a dog before this. But I say no as I wouldn't have gotten Benji and he is the perfect dog for me with his winning ways.
