Summer of Feline Love

Ann Arbor, MI. All you need is love (and of course the means to care for a new pet) to beat the long hot summer. The Humane Society of Huron Valley has free love for you during the month of August.

Come and dig the gentle purrs of the cool cats at HSHV. We have so many groovy adult cats that need homes. The vibe you'll feel when you adopt a homeless cat will set you free and give our felines the only thing they really need a caring home. It's at this time of the year that so many adult cats enter shelters. Many families are adopting kittens right now so adult cats will stay even longer at HSHV. Help share the love with an adult cat this summer.

There are three ways that you can qualify for a free adult feline (over 5 months) at HSHV:

  • Bring in an item from our "Share the Love" wish list which will help HSHV care for our homeless cats
  • Purchase $50 or more from our HSHV retail store at the time of your adoption
  • Purchase 6 months of preventative from HSHV at the time of your adoption

"Share the Love" Wish List Items:

  • Snuggle Safe Heat Discs
  • $25 gift card to any pet supply store
  • $25 gift card to Meijer or Target
  • 3 or more Zoom Groom cat brushes
  • Feliway Spray for Cats
  • Small, round cat bed
  • 12 or more cans of pate cat food
  • 3 cans of KMR (kitten milk replacement)
  • 5 "CAT DANCER" toys (wire and cardboard toy found in most pet stores
  • $25 or more of cat toys
  • 25 pounds or more of clay cat litter (non-clumping)
  • Durapet feeding bowls (the small shallow bowls)

To see all of the adoptable animals at HSHV go to www.hshv.org. All animals have been spayed or neutered, are up-to-date on their vaccinations, have had a medical examination and come with a microchip I.D. which is all included in the low adoption fee.

The Humane Society of Huron Valley, located in Ann Arbor, was recently awarded the "Best Large Animal Shelter in Michigan" by the Michigan Pet Fund Alliance for saving the most lives. HSHV is a not-for-profit, tax-exempt public charity. We are independently run and rely on the generosity of people like you to continue our mission to support the loving, responsible care of every animal in our community.
