HSHV Investigators Rescue Three Sheep  The three rescued sheep enjoy a brief stay at HSHV A routine traffic stop by a county deputy uncovers animal cruelty Our Cruelty Investigators received a call from a Washtenaw County Sheriff's Deputy. During a routine traffic stop, she found three sheep hogtied and thrown in the back of a pick-up truck. Hogtying prevents animals from standing or moving in any way, and is against the law. The bed of the pick-up truck had no cover and the sheep, with their full coats, were defenseless against the sweltering heat. Our Investigators responded and transported the sheep back to HSHV where they were immediately examined by our vets. They were suffering from potentially fatal heat exhaustion. They were quickly given life-saving treatment and stayed overnight in one of our kennels to recover. The sheep have since been adopted by a family that will allow them to live out their lives in comfort on their farm. Their previous owner is facing charges of animal cruelty.
