33rd Annual Walk & Wag an Amazing Success!  Brutus, adopted because of his appearance at Walk & Wag! Beautiful weather, lots of fun activities, and an astonishing amount of money raised for HSHV! Saturday, May 19th was our 33rd Annual Walk & Wag (and Run). For the first time, we added a 5K race to the annual one-mile fun walk. We had a grand total of 577 humans and 348 dogs at this year's event, and thanks to our participants, sponsors, volunteers, and everyone who bought a raffle ticket, we raised over $190,000 for the animals of HSHV--a new record and well over our goal! 114 runners (and several dogs!) took part in our first ever 5K which started at 9am. The overall winners of the race were Joseph Styrna of Ann Arbor and Ana Sofia Moreno-Mesa, also of Ann Arbor. Full race results are here. One lucky dog even found a new home thanks to his trip to Walk & Wag! Brutus, pictured above, was so charming that his new owner came to the shelter after the event on Saturday and adopted him!
