HSHV Announces 2012 Celebrity Spokesdog Winner

Congratulations to Boz, the 2012 Celebrity Spokesdog

A dog like BozAnn Arbor, MI.   The Humane Society of Huron Valley (HSHV) has found the face of the 2012 Walk & Wag and RUN, spring fundraiser. Boz, an 11 year old cocker spaniel/Shih Tzu mix, is this year’s Celebrity Spokesdog

Boz was adopted by Marlene and Mike Radzik back in 2001 when Boz’s elderly owner became ill and could no longer care for her new dog. Boz, then known as Benny, was still a young puppy when he came to the Humane Society of Huron Valley to find his new forever home.

There are many reasons that animals end up in animal shelters - some are stray, some are discarded or abused, and some, like Boz, come to us because their family becomes unable to care for them any longer.

It did not take long for the Radziks to decide that Boz would make a great addition to their family. His easy-going attitude and quirky habits have filled their home with laughter and love for many years now.

“Boz has always had a thing for shoes,” says Marlene. “Whenever anyone comes for a visit Boz greets them at the door with a shoe in his mouth as if to say come on in, sit a spell and take your shoes off. We can tell you that Boz has been blessed with a special gift to instantly warm people’s hearts. Everyone that meets him tells us that they would love to have a companion just like him.”

The 33rd Annual Humane Society of Huron Valley Walk & Wag is brand new! New location, new activities and for the first time a brand new 5K run to kick off the morning.
