Sheldon: A Great Buddy
Sheldon: A Great Buddy

Adopted in February 2009

My husband and I adopted Sheldon in February 2009. He was pretty anxious and LOOOUUUUD at first, but over time, he has settled in to become an integral part of our home and lives. Sheldon has required some veterinary care: multiple tooth cleanings and extractions and a minor surgery to remove a large lipoma. We have learned to brush his teeth every night to prevent further gingivitis, and now he loves his chicken-flavored toothpaste. The vets first estimated Sheldon to be 10 years old, and the new estimate is 8! So don't let his white face fool you, he is a trim fellow who loves running and sniffing for miles with us. Sheldon has traveled the country with us too: exploring the woods of South Carolina, swimming in Lake Michigan, frequenting the dog parks of Wisconsin, and chasing chipmunks in Connecticut. Occasionally, he follows his nose away from home (we imagine "Born to be Wild" is Sheldon's theme song), but we can always track him down by his telltale baying. If you are in Ann Arbor, you are sure to hear Sheldon and I walking the streets. He may not be subtle, but he's a great buddy just the way he is.
