Selina (formerly Mary Lou)  A Birthday Story Adopted in June 2011 On my 21st birthday, my boyfriend and I drove up to Ann Arbor from Albion, a smallish town in the south-central part of the state. We saw Mary Lou's picture on the website and I was looking for a kitten just like her. We trekked all the way to Ann Arbor just to have a look at the little girl kitty on the website and when we met her, we instantly fell in love. My boyfriend seemed to be a little cautious and wanted to check out other cats before we committed, but she nibbled on the tip of his finger, started kneading on his chest, and purred like a motorboat. Suddenly he couldn't be persuaded to look at other cats; we'd fallen totally in love. So, after a meow-filled ride home, we introduced her to her new place and she made herself right at home. She's a fearless cat who is slowly but surely making friends with all her housemates, which include 10 other humans, a dog, and two other cats. We changed her name to Selina (since she reminds us so much of Selina Kyle, AKA Catwoman) and the rest is history. We loved our experience at HSHV and have recommended it to everyone we know since! |
