Isabel (aka Izzy)  Happy Forever Home for Izzy! Adopted in July 2011 Our hearts were heavy, as we recently lost our best forever friend–our wonderful Chihuahua, Peanut. Peanut was so lovable and friendly, she eventually became and loved being a Dr. Paws therapy dog. Our neighbors kids always called her out to play with them in our backyard. Well, after 13 years her heart couldn't beat any longer and she passed over to the Rainbow Bridge on July 29, 2011 at 2:00 pm. When I came home from work that evening, my heart was broken beyond belief, and I felt lost. My husband said the best way to honor Peanut's spirit was to give a new forever home to a shelter dog. I thought about this overnight, and agreed with him to move forward. The following day, we started our search on line for a Chihuahua that needed a new forever home. We were blessed enough to run across your website to our eventual find with Isabel. When we met her in the kennel, we knew it was a match made in heaven! After receiving a thorough interview by your staff, we were finally able to take Isabel home with us. Izzy is thriving in her new forever home, and gets along fabulously with her new sisters BeeBee and Rosie! A BIG hug and thank you goes out to Isabel's foster Mom, Christie Layton. She did a FABULOUS job of socializing and teaching Isabel great manners, not to mention that Izzy is also big snuggle bug! It has made the transition with Isabel in our home and hearts literally seamless and perfect! We are so grateful to everyone at the Humane Society ofHuron Valley that made every step in this long process possible so Isabel was insured to be placed successfully in her new forever home!
