Zoe (formerly Dina) and Shadow (formerly Wednesday)

Wednesday and Dina
Wednesday and Dina

Adopted in July 2011

My partner and I wanted to submit the following Happy Tales, and to thank you again for adding Shadow and Dina to our lives. We hope to give them a wonderful life, in return for the happiness and love they have given us. We can't imagine our lives without them in it.

Shadow (aka Wednesday)- Shadow noisily entered our home 3 weeks ago, proving to all that she can and will be louder than any Siamese on Earth. Although she's a petite young lady, she is determined to huff and growl in order to maintain her (imagined) position as Shadow the Alpha Cat. She spends her days running to hide behind Mama Jo and Mama Kristin, whenever she hears the smallest noise or sees frightening creatures, such as the chipmunks on the other side of the glass door. She pounces on tiny stains on the rugs, and jumps when the fan is turned on. Whenever Shadow discovers her tail following her, she gets very annoyed and pounces to catch it. But she is a VERY brave girl, so we try to muffle our laughter and hide our grins. Shadow loves her canned food and her crunchies, and enjoys eating as much of her sister's portions as she is able. She also has claimed the heated bed, and is purrfectly happy in her forever home.

Zoe has adjusted well to her forever home, although she would like you to know that she did NOT appreciate the hour-long car ride prior to her arrival. ;)

She and her new sister Shadow yowled and complained all the way home, much to our amusement. We tried to soothe them, but our actions were to no avail.

Today, Zoe likes to roam around our home, exploring all the fun places at night when all is quiet. But the minute dawn hits- she runs back to her private room- formerly our study- where she can be found lounging on any of the four padded chairs, dining happily from her dinner tray (I kid you not!), mellowing out on organic catnip, or discretely using her commode.

Although she is a senior cat, (12.5 years), she will still have many years (we hope) to feel safe and very much loved.
