Daisy (formerly Firefli)

Firefli blooms into a Daisy
Firefli blooms into a Daisy

Adopted in February 2011

After my 17-year old dog passed away I knew that for me the only way to make the pain fade was to rescue another dog. I spotted Daisy (formerly Firefli) on the internet and she appeared to be just what I was looking for. I happen to love Chihuahuas. We drove 290 miles to see her. Her bio said she was found by a dumpster in February, nearly frozen and clinging to life. When we saw her she was jumping around the viewing room, curious about everything. She was not very interested in us because she was beginning to bond with her foster Mom, but she ran up to greet us a couple of times. We decided she was the one for us.

When we arrived home after our long drive, she saw the little sherpa bed I bought for her, ran and jumped into it like it was always hers. I knew she would soon feel at home. She has grown from 4-1/2 pounds to 7-1/2. She can run really fast. And by the way, she is a pure bred Chihuahua. She is housebroken, very healthy, playful and sweet. Her fur grew in very dense and soft. Everyone who pets her comments on how soft she is. Her tail is quite long for a Chihuahua and is a barometer of her happiness. And her soulful soft brown eyes would melt your heart. My husband felt that the only fitting name for our perky little girl was "Daisy." We love her so much.

I strongly recommend adoption. Look beyond the posted photo. Visit the pet and see their personality. Daisy has blossomed into an entirely different dog than the skinny, scared little dog I first saw on the internet. She is confident, happy, and full of energy.

Thank you to the Humane Society of Huron Valley and the Firefighters who saved her.
