Mr. Higgens

Mr. Higgens v The Squirrel
Mr. Higgens v The Squirrel

Adopted in April 2011

Higgens had a rough time in the shelter, with recurring infections and being generally overwhelmed by the noise and other animals. After a while, he was sent to stay with a lovely foster mom, who kept Higs company until we finally met. When Higgles was found, his long fur was badly matted, and subsequently had to be shorn. I had been stalking him for some time on the Humane Society web site, and found his lion cut in the online pictures too cute to resist. After a quick meeting, Higgypiggy came home with me. After almost two months, the full glory of his Himalayan mane has returned. As the only animal in a quiet home, Higgypoo has made himself completely comfortable, whether sleeping or playing or sitting in a window, keeping an eye out for squirrels. Because he is an older cat (7 years), Higgens likes his rest, but gets worked up over his toys and catnip like a bouncy kitten. We are quite happy together, and both of us thank the Humane Society of Huron Valley (and Courtney the foster mom) for taking such great care of him until we found one another!
