Dot! Adopted in 2010 Dot, nicknamed Magic Kitten during her time at HSHV, was a special case: lost or abandoned at an extremely young age--only a week or so--brought to HSHV with a nasty cold and eye infection. Most kittens don't make it past that at such a young age without constant care. Dr. Kristie Brock and her husband fostered her back to health. I saw pictures of little Dot when she was a tiny thing; barely had ears, and immediately fell for her rambunctious spirit. She seemed like a perfect match to live with our blind orange cat, Jcksn-- perfect foil to his docile demeanor. We were right! They bonded within tightly together within two hours of meeting, and were inseparable as early as a day later. We named her Princess Angelina Contesa Louisa Fancesca Banana-Fana Bo Besca the Third--or Dot, which is easier to remember--after the similarly-spirited character from Animaniacs (who often forgot her own entire name). Just past a year old now, Dot and Jcksn are constant companions here in Chicago. Thanks to HSHV and Dr. Brock for bringing us together. Here's pictures of Dot at a month old, sleeping in the hood of Dr. Brock's jacket, and now, sunning herself in her favorite glass bowl, legs spilling out all over the place. |
