Lady Denali (formerly Lady)

Lady Denali
Lady Denali

Adopted in December 2010

During the last week of 2010, we were lucky enough to welcome Lady Denali into our family. Lady (we added Denali to her name as I love Alaska) has been a great addition to the family. When we adopted Denali, she was unfortunately heart worm positive. After adoption, we began her heart worm treatment at HSHV. While she certainly did not enjoy the required inactivity, she pulled through the treatment with no problems whatsoever.

She is a very happy and energetic dog. While she was listed as a lab/border collie mix, we are very confident that she is mostly Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever. She has a lot of toller mannerisms, most notably the toller scream (look that up on Google or YouTube. We were looking for a toller when we found Denali and we are very happy to have her as part of the family.

We are about to finish her first obedience class at Agility Synergy and she is progressing very nicely. Still not able to be off leash, as she is intent on setting a land speed record when she gets loose. Luckily that has only happened a couple times! Getting close on recall though.

She loves to run and chase her squeaky ball, and also loves long hikes. I had my best cholesterol in a decade by far thanks to all the exercise she needs (she gets a bit psycho without lots of activity).

Thanks to HSHV for saving such a great friend from heart worm! We are very lucky to share our home with her (and our other dog Max).

Thanks,
Tony, Melanie & Hayden
