Girl Scout Participants Make Great Leaders for Helping Animals Emma and Bridget Along with finding homes for more than 4,000 animals each year, HSHV offers fun and educational programs for the community to help animals in many ways. One of these programs invites boy scout and girl scout groups to the shelter where groups participate in a shelter tour, a short presentation about what our shelter does, making enrichment activities for the animals, and how to safely meet a dog. Emma and Bridget were among one visit. “We learned a lot about animals when we came for a girl scout field trip and we wanted to help,” said the girls. The pair collected cat food and toys, dog food and toys, and timothy hay for our small mammals at their birthday party and donated them to HSHV. Not only did Emma and Bridget help by donating, they help every day just by caring and learning about animals. Way to go Kind Kids! |
