Happy Neuter Year! $20 neuter surgeries in January Make a New Year's Resolution to neuter your pet
Sponsored by PetSmart Charities, the largest funder of animal welfare efforts in North America, the “Happy Neuter Year” campaign provides $20 neutering surgeries for male dogs and cats during the month of January. Spaying and neutering is one of the most effective ways to reduce the homeless pet population and is safe for puppies and kittens as young as eight to 10 weeks old, according to the American Veterinary Medical Association. “Neutering male pets is a simple surgery that reduces unwanted behaviors, like roaming, fighting, and urine marking territories,” says Sarah Marsh, HSHV’s Clinic Manager. “It also guarantees your dog or cat never fathers a litter of puppies or kittens.” This special $20 rate is even less than HSHV’s normal low-cost price. Pet parents who wish to take advantage of this offer must mention the “Happy Neuter Year” promotion when they schedule their appointment. This promotion is based on availability, and pets must be current on their rabies and distemper vaccines. Vaccines and surgeries for cryptorchid pets can be provided at an additional charge.
