Senior Streak 10-year-old HSHV alum wins 5K two years straight Finishing the Walk & Wag 5K run in just over 18 minutes is impressive for a human. But for a 10 year old formerly homeless dog? Two years in a row? Meet Rally. "We consider her our 'dogter,'" Andrea R. says. Andrea and her husband Kyle adopted Rally (formerly Bella) from HSHV in 2013, just three weeks after tying the knot. Rally, a 76-pound German Shepherd/Labrador mix was at HSHV because her landlord wouldn't allow her to live there anymore. She was timid and scared when she arrived at our shelter. But she quickly found a new home with newlyweds -- and a new hobby to boot! Now 10 years old, Rally is Kyle's running partner. Kyle and Rally finished in first place at HSHV's Walk & Wag & Run 5K in May... for the second year straight. "Even though she's a senior dog, she loves being active and running with us," Andrea says. "We feel so blessed! Thank you, Humane Society of Huron Valley, for all that you do!!"
