Leila update  Leila update (Now Nelly) (Now Nelly) I have to say February 7th, 2015 has to be one of the greatest moments of our lives when we adopted Nelly. It was a Saturday afternoon, and I thought it would be a fun adventure to go to the HSHV with my youngest son (my husband and other son were out of town)-- you know just to "check it out" because we never been there before. That is when we met this sweet adorable girl, Nelly (Leila). Within minutes, my son was saying "Let's adopt her! She is perfect, Mom." Soon pictures & texts were getting sent to my husband, and with their approval we went ahead with the adoption. I cannot express how much joy she has brought to our family. As my husband says, "She completes us." Nelly is smart, playful, eager to please, and quick to learn. Nelly will be 6 months soon and is learning about her new home and surroundings. Nelly is potty trained, sits, shakes, high fives, lays down, and is a great cuddlier. We are still working on our walks together, but we'll get there. She gets lots and lots of love from her family members. Thank you HSHV staff members, vets & volunteers for what you all do there. |
