Two Rescues Are Better Than One

What's better than one adopted cat? Two, of course!

In 2012, we adopted the most sweet beautiful loving calico kitten named Apricot. This year, my daughter decided she only wanted three things for Christmas.... new cat toys, a box for the cat toys, and a new kitten named Kiwi! After three months of the same answer, and her agreeing that would be ALL she got, we went to HSHV on the Sunday before Christmas. After spending an hour looking and playing with the cats, and Heather getting sad that there were no kittens left that needed a home, we did one more walk-through, because she agreed it was important that the cats had some one-on-one time with people.

Then she found 3 year old Pauli hiding in the back of his cage, this little itty bitty cat. Within seconds, Heather had him playing and it was love at first sight. We learned that Pauli had been surrendered by his previous family because he played "too rough" with their other cat. Yes, they chase each other around and wrestle, but nothing that isn't normal cat behavior!!! I am so glad we made that second trip through the cages, because Kiwi is such a sweet sweet kitty, and the purrfect fit for our family!!
