Our newest best friend!

Looking for a friend for our buddy Mikey, we headed to our favorite Humane Society, HSHV. We would peek in from time to time but never found a kitten we thought would click with our family. We went again in the summer last year and to our surprise there were kittens everywhere! To make this visit even more special, we found a baby Siamese in the exact same cage we found Mikey. She was like nothing we had seen before and we were in love. Actually, I take that back, we were not quite sure we could handle two cats, so we put down a kitten deposit and headed to Plymouth for lunch. After talking it over, we decided to take the plunge and went back to get her.

We named her Lily, and it's been an amazing year and half with her in our family. My wife Kristen loves her little squeaks, Mikey loves having a friend and I feel happiness every time I see her and my family enjoying each other's company. She's slightly addicted to a raccoon toy we call coony and has become accustomed to lying between my legs at night in the hammock I make. Although I feel like I cannot move, I would not have it any other way.

A few words of advice for potential or new kitten owners:
1) HSHV is right! Take two. They really do need a friend and can play with each other in a way we cannot.
2) Even if your kitty is a few years old, they can enjoy a kitten too!
3) Set up you leg space in bed before the cat jumps in.
4) Open your heart to animals and they will open it back. Actually, that's probably true with everyone!
