Sammie's One Year Update

Homeless hopeful finds her forever home

In October 2013, my fiancé and I first met Sammie (formerly Keelee) at HSHV. Sammie had been found stray. She was mangy, skinny, and smelly, but something about her hopeful tail wags made us want to meet her. In the meeting room, she brought us all of her toys, one by one, and happily chewed her bone in our laps. We knew immediately that we would take her home.

Almost a year later, Sammie is healthy and 20 pounds heavier, but still tries to squeeze into our laps with bones to chew. Our formerly timid girl now loves running around at the dog park and coming home to lots of belly rubs. Every time it storms outside, we think of how happy we are that she is home with us instead of outside in the rain.

Thank you, HSHV, for rescuing such an awesome dog!
