Settling in very nicely

Rue (formally known as Pesto) has been a wonderful addition to our little family. I was very hesitant at first about getting another cat, but after an evening of volunteering, I just couldn't get her out of my head. I went back first thing in the morning to adopt her. The adoption counselor warned me that she was a very shy and skittish kitten, and that she would take a lot longer to acclimate than most. The second we got home, however, this was definitely not the case. The second she hopped out of her crate she started strutting around like she owned the place. She then zeroed in on my bed, jumped up, stretched out, and went right to sleep. I've never seen a cat acclimate so fast. Even while my other cat, Luna, was growling and hissing at her, she didn't even bat an eye or return a hiss. Today they are best friends; it only took them a few days to realize how much they were going to love each other. Rue doesn't leave my arms at night, and I wouldn't have it any other way. My two lovelies were two of the best decisions I have ever made! Always go with your gut when picking a pet; it has never failed me.
Thanks HSHV!
