The HSHV Animal Intake Department and Animal Rescue Team have been busy

It definitely takes a team to save lives, and at the Humane Society of Huron Valley, we all come together when we faced with the everyday challenge of helping homeless companions animals as well as our wildlife friends.

Just this week alone, we've had infant kittens rescued, and a screech owl freed from fencing.

• Because of our collaboration with Michigan Orphan Kitten Rescue, the four tiny kittens, just days old, will be bottle-fed until they are weaned, and will have a chance to grow and be adopted into a caring family.

• A couple walking their dog near Barton Hills were alerted by their's dog's frantic barking and came upon a screech owl tangled and hanging upside down in deer fencing. Read the entire story here. 

Our Emergency Rescue staff rescues sick or injured animals, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year in Washtenaw County. Last year, we rescued over 1,500 animals  that would have had no other options. Our Emergency Rescue Department is  completely funded by the generosity of our donors.
