HSHV Celebrates 500th Adoption of 2014

Cola the kitten finds a new home

500th adoption
Jeffrey Smith of Port Huron (front row, center) adopted a 4-month-old kitten named Cola.

Last year, the Humane Society of Huron Valley adopted close to 4,000 animals into caring homes.

The cold weather that greeted all of us here in Michigan for the past three months did slow down our adoption numbers but we are certainly hopeful that we will surpass 4,000 adoptions this year.

Today, Monday, March 10, 2014 the first adoption of the day at 11:35 am, was also our 500th adoption for this year. We all celebrated reaching that milestone.

We thank Jeffrey Smith of Port Huron, MI and his friends who gave Cola, a 4-month-old kitten a forever home.

HSHV is open 7 days a week at 11:00 am for adoptions. When you are ready to bring home a new furry companion, we certainly hope you will think of HSHV and always make adoption your first option.
