Julia Recognizes Her Fortune, and Shares It

Local Girl Help Feed Hungry Pets on Her Birthday

Quick: list the type of foods that you would find at a 12-year-olds birthday party in your head. Good. Did dog food make the list? Julia’s birthday was not the typical affair, and she knew what she was doing when she didn’t make a list of things she wanted for her special day. Instead, Julia decided that she would take an inventory of what she had and realized that she doesn’t “need anything for (her) birthday, and (she) knew that animals at the shelter are always in need.” Being able to recognize that there were others that need help, others that could offer nothing in return for kindness besides gratitude, is remarkable. Actually acting on it is heroic. Learning that this hero isn’t even a teenager yet is inspiring. Thank you Julia!
