Henrys story of coming home!

I had planned on getting a Henry for over a year. I always wanted a kitten, specifically an orange kitten, and I wanted to name him Henry. My boyfriend bought me all of the materials (toys, litter, bowl) far before I got Henry, and due to certain circumstances, I wasn't able to have a pet at that time. Recently, I moved to the area renting my own apartment, with anticipation of getting my Henry!
When the time came, my boyfriend and I researched 3 shelters to visit. On the weekend he came to visit, we had planned to come to HSHV that Friday night due to the other shelters being closed. We arrived and quickly found our way to the kitten room. Upon looking at some of the kittens none of them seemed to fit the bill, although there was one that appeared to be more white than orange. It was when we overheard a near by couple say "I like Leo, more than I like Henry".....My eyes widened, and my boyfriend casually asked "which one is Henry..?" "The orange one she responded. OH MY GOODNESS!We both looked at eachother and knew. We looked back at the kitten, and all the sudden he became everything we were looking for! I urged my boyfriend to go fill out the handling sheet so we could hold him before close that night! We fell in love! Henry needed to come home with us! It was too late that night, so without question, we had to put him on hold! We came back first thing in the morning, and he was ours!
Henry adapted very well to coming home. He ate ALOT, and kept eating! He quickly found his favorite toys, used his litter right away, and slowly but surely he's warmed up to both of us.
In the last few weeks, we've grown accustomed to his cycle: running around like a crazy man, eating, using his litterbox, resting/cuddling, and starting the cycle all over again! Apart from a few learned lessons like falling in the running shower, and jumping in the refridgertor, Henry has been everything I ever wanted in a kitten!
Thank you Katie, for being so helpful during our adoption process with Henry! You did a great job.
