HSHV Acknowledged by the Michigan Pet Fund Alliance as Best Large Animal Shelter

This is the third year in a row that HSHV has been presented with the Outstanding Shelter Award

MPFA LogoThe Humane Society of Huron Valley was honored by the Michigan Pet Fund Alliance (MPFA) at its statewide “No Kill Conference”.  MPFA gave Outstanding Shelter Awards to shelters who had the best animal save rates in 2012. This is the third year in a row that HSHV has been presented with the Outstanding Shelter Award.

"HSHV is proud to have a high save rate that keeps getting better every year and is honored to receive this award.  We applaud the work of MPFA to save the lives of Michigan’s shelter animals,” said Tanya Hilgendorf, HSHV President and
CEO.

“This award belongs to an astounding community of staff, volunteers, Board members, donors, adopters and supporters who all give of themselves in some way to ensure exceptional care and positive outcomes for those who need us most,”
added Ms. Hilgendorf.

“Mission success requires dedication to the tenants of organizational excellence -- including creativity, accountability, expertise, transparency, and risk taking -- and is fueled by crazy love for those we serve and a refusal to give up.  We hope others can use us as an example of what is possible so all animals can be treated with the same kind of love and care.”

The Humane Society of Huron Valley, located in Ann Arbor, is an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and relies solely on the generosity of our supporters to provide critical community programs and services. HSHV is an award-winning organization, recognized for our best practices and highest animal "save-rate" among all similar shelters in Michigan. Charity Navigator, the nation’s top charity evaluator, awarded HSHV a 4-star ranking, the highest possible. The mission of HSHV is to promote the loving, responsible care of all animals in our community. HSHV is not affiliated with any other humane organization and does not receive funding from the United Way. For more information, call (734) 662-5585 or visit www.hshv.org. LIKE US! LOVE THEM!
