Pit Bull Fans for Life  Pit Bull Fans for Life My husband and I still can't believe how lucky we are to have Reid, adopted Oct. 2012, in our lives. Reid is sweet, submissive, and loves everyone, whether they're children, cats, or other dogs. We only wanted to "look." Just start to explore potentially having dog #2 in our family. One Friday in October, my husband and I stopped at the HSHV on our lunch breaks. As we walked down the aisles of dogs at the rescue, we saw countless sweet, smiling faces. Then toward the end of the row, there was this smaller dog sitting quietly watching everyone go by. We stopped in front of his kennel and he wagged his tail. We looked at each other, and knew we had to visit with him. As a volunteer opened the kennel door for us, Reid flopped onto the floor and rolled over, exposing his belly. He stole our hearts right then and we won't ever get them back. Reid, now Eliot, is the sweetest dog we have ever had. Thankfully, he and our 6-year-old Wheaten Terrier are good buds. He loves EVERYONe, whether children, cats, a toad he meets in the backyard, or other dogs. He has limitless energy and a playful personality. Eliot does not stop moving, or giving kisses or leaning against someone for love and attention. |
