Nigel (aka Prince) and Lester

Nigel (aka Prince) and Lester
Nigel (aka Prince) and Lester

Shown with Lucy (18yo) and Juno (3yo).

We adopted Lester last summer, and he was a quiet 8yo gentleman that didn't know how to play. In November, we adopted Nigel (formerly Prince), a 7yo Rat Terrier that wants to play, play, play all day long. Despite a few house training issues, Nigel has not only adapted to his new home, he and Lester have become best friends. Nigel taught Lester how to play with toys, and they are getting close to figuring out how to play tug-of-war together. When the boys get excited, they play a chase game together where Lester hides on the bed and Nigel runs laps around the bedroom, jumping up on the bed to have Lester lunge out at him and try to steal whatever toy Nigel is carrying.

You can see from the picture that our four cats have no issues with either boy. Lester actually has his head resting on Lucy. We have two other cats, Charles (22yo) and the Doctor (13yo) and even the cranky, senile little man is totally comfortable around them. They are happy, healthy, playful, and loving. And spoiled rotten. Stuffed animals litter every room, and the boys spend most nights sleeping on the bed: Nigel curled up under the blankets at my knees, Lester sprawled on his back with his little legs waving in the air, snoring like a stevedore with his head on his own pillow.
