When Amanda (now Annabelle) walked right over and "kissed" us on the nose, we knew she had chosen us.

In December 2011, six months after our beloved 12 year old cat Ashlar passed away, we decided it was time to find a companion for his twin brother, Vladimir. We petted and played with many lovely cats, but when Amanda (now Annabelle) walked right over and "kissed" us on the nose, we knew she had chosen us.

She took a little extra time getting used to her new surroundings, but she continues to be a charmer. She still gives lots of kisses and loves playing with her furry mice on the stairs. When we come home from work they are usually in a pile at the end of the stairs and we toss them back up so she can start over again. In the winter she spent nearly every night with us under the covers, but now that the weather is warmer she has been sleeping belly up. She has very good house manners, and she and Vladimir are slowly becoming friends. Sometimes Vladimir even allows her to wash his face!

We are so thankful to the staff and volunteers at HSHV for taking great care of Annabelle and all of the wonderful animals at the shelter. Thank you for all that you do, Sandy and Donda Walke
