June in July

My recent adoption of "June" the 6 yr. Beagle after the passing of my 6th adopted dog, Daisy.

I adopted June (bug), a 6 year old Beagle mix from HSHV to replace my dear old Daisy who was put to sleep at the first part of the month. Daisy had been with us-- me & my other two dogs--since we adopted her 4 years ago. Daisy was gentle and so sweet but was 10 years old when we got her so her passing is just a fact of dogs' lives. I knew that when we got her, but I am 75 and don't want a puppy so I always pick senior dogs where possible and they all have a good life with us. June was in foster care with her foster family who were just adoring her & she was with other dogs. I met her at the Foster parent's home & we arranged to meet my dogs at the shelter. All went fine on the introductions and we adopted June who has settled in very well with us all and seems quite happy here as her picture shows. I always try to get an adoptable dog from the shelter as they need us so
and I have NEVER been unhappy I did so. Adoption: the only way to go!
