The Fantastic Adventures of Ella

The Fantastic Adventures of Ella
The Fantastic Adventures of Ella

Abandoned and afraid, Ella (or kitty) was uncertain of what tomorrow would bring. After weeks of trying to find a place to call home, she met a young woman looking for light in her own darkness; it was love at first sight.

After weeks of begging my father to let my get a cat, he finally caved.

At 22 years old, I was struggling with PTSD and anxiety; finding it hard to calm down when anxious and having frequent panic and anxiety attacks. Something told me a cat would help me find my way to healing.

I was right. I spent hours trying to find a cat that would fit in with our family: that meant having experience with dogs, as I have a 5 year old Westie named Lucky who adores cats.

Once my mother saw Ella's picture, it was decided; I visited her in the shelter the next day and we made an instant connection. We brought her home and, after an adjustment period and many trips to the vet for her conjunctivitis (due to herpes) flare-ups, she is happy and fully bonded with me.

When I have anxiety, she lies on my chest and purrs until I've calmed down. She follows me everywhere and loves just spending time in the same room as me.

Thank you, HSHV, for bringing us together for a life-long journey.
