How one girl saved a very beautiful life

One summer day in my neighborhood, my neighbor and good friend came over and said, "Hannah, come quick; there's a kitten stuck under my house." I quickly put on some new (different then my nightgown) clothes and went over there.

At first I heard the meowing but didn't see her. Then she popped her head through a crack, and that's when I knew that her survival chance was little to none. My sister went to get my mom and a box with a towel for the kitten; I crawled under the house and through some cobwebs to save this life.

As I brought her out, it looked like there may have been more so I went to look and when I found out there were no more I came out. As we were looking at her, she was very young; she still had the bright blue newborn baby eyes so she wasn't more then a week old. At first she was thought to be a he so when I got out from under the house and looked at her I said, "That's a girl," and named her Hope. I picked not only this name because that's what I was doing as the weeks went by until she came home but because since she was so young she had a slim chance of surviving if she hadn't been saved. Now she is a happy, healthy 8 pound, 8 month old kitten with a lot of adventures ahead of her.
