Doc Holiday now Lemmy

In August of 2015 I decided to make a life change and move from Ypsilanti to Marquette, Michigan. I came home for Christmas and was really itchin' for a companion. My friends went and looked at the Humane Society for me because they were as excited as I was about my decision, and sent me a few pictures of the doggies. One stuck out to me though, and I replied, "WHO'S THAT!?"

The next day, I went to meet the love of my life, formerly known as Doc Holiday; he is now Lemmy. (I found out later, the birthday of the actual Lemmy from  was the day I adopted him, and passed away later that week.)

I brought him back up north with me; he was perfect on the seven hour car ride. I think he was unsure about the amount of snow at first, but then quickly developed a love for it. Lemmy also enjoys long hikes, playing with other doggies, LICKING, cuddling and swimming! I think he was unsure about the swimming thing at first, but he went in Lake Superior a few times, and I didn't even have to throw a toy.

Anyway, I am so thankful for this dog, and really lucky to have chosen the right one. At first, it's a tough decision when a dog (especially pit) comes from an abusive past, and you don't know their story or what they are capable of. However, I'm so glad I looked past it because I was told he is weird around men (he LOVES them), no to kids (LOVES them), and he is pretty good about potty and chewing issues. Literally, all Lemmy is capable of is loving humans and other animals.
