With loss comes new opportunities for love, Chevy has definitely taught us that.

On April 29th, 2014, my fiancée and I were left no other option than to say farewell to one of our two beloved shih tzu's. We very soon learned that Bailey, our other shih tzu, couldn't bear the separation. After 12 years with a companion, he needed someone new. Keeping this in mind, we decided that it was time to look for a new companion for him and headed to HSHV.

After quite some time spent looking at all of our options, we fell in love with Chevy - the dog afraid of the thing he's named after. Chevy has taken up a sacred place in our hearts and in the hearts of everyone he has met. Chevy is the first dog I've had that doesn't shy away from new things (unless they have a motor). He loves meeting new people and new dogs, going new places, exploring, and playing fetch and tug-of-war. Chevy has shown us that even after loss, new things will come. Yes, it's hard that we lost one of our beloved boys, but we've gained a dog that has opened door after door for myself, my fiancée, and his new found brother Bailey.
