HSHV Receives Outstanding Shelter Award for Best Save Rate

This is the fourth year in a row that HSHV has been presented with this award from the Michigan Pet Fund Alliance

HSHV Named Outstanding Animal Shelter for Best Save Rate

MPFA Logo(ANN ARBOR, MI):  The Humane Society of Huron Valley will be honored by the Michigan Pet Fund Alliance (MPFA) at its statewide “No Kill Conference” in September.  MPFA will be recognizing shelters who had the best animal save rates in 2013. This is the fourth year in a row that HSHV will be presented with the Outstanding Shelter Award in recognition of the number of lives we save.

"We are deeply proud of this honor.  It is a symbol of our life affirming philosophy and commitment to organizational excellence for those who need us most.  We at HSHV are passionate about what we do and how we do it.  Each part of our work -- whether it education, protection, healing, reunion, or re-homing -- is critical to helping homeless and abused animals,” said Tanya Hilgendorf, HSHV President and CEO.  “This fall also marks our fifth anniversary in our wonderful facility.  This building, and all the work inside, is made possible through our animal-loving community of donors, volunteers, adopters, board members, and staff.  They provide us with the ability to value every life that comes through our door, to go above and beyond, and to break new ground on their behalf,” added Hilgendorf.
