Clinton's Journey - Senior to Pup

Clinton's Journey - Senior to Pup

HSHV's oldest canine is hiding his age

I adopted Clinton just over a week ago (HSHV's oldest canine resident at 14 years), and the transformation has been life-changing. Clinton has certainly changed drastically...transitioning from a sluggish senior to a romping puppy. He tears through my house when he hears the treat drawer open and wags his cute stubby tail incessantly at the mention of going for a walk. But the real transformation has been in my home and with me.

Since Clinton arrived, my home is warmer, calmer, and filled to the brim with love. Clinton, or as I lovingly call him, "Moosh," is by my side all day at work, sleeping at or licking my feet under my desk. In the evening, we walk and then cuddle on the couch. In between everything, he follows me from room to room. No privacy in the bathroom anymore! :-) While I've always loved animals, my Moosh has brought out an even more loving side of me. I find that I smile more and I'm somehow kinder and more thoughtful to everything and everyone around me. I cannot imagine my life or my home without my Clinton...my adorable little Moosh that right now is sound asleep in his new bed...unaware of the impact he has had on my home and my heart.

PS: Clinton was diagnosed with Cushings,so his bloated belly makes it hard for him to get up on the furniture. My amazing girlfriend built the custom doggie ramp in the photo, so Moosh can always get to his people.
