Peep's Progress A New Life in the Country I adopted "Peep" from HSHV for mainly aesthetic reasons: I just wanted a big orange tom cat because they're so beautiful. Also, I learned he was a bit needy with medical problems and he won my heart. "Peep" became "Furgus" at our house. It means "masculine," a name we thought he needed because he'd had his "boy part" surgically removed. We don't know much about his
earlier life except that he loved a 6 year old girl who took him for doll buggy
rides, which accounts for his fearless friendliness with our
granddaughters. He really likes little girls. He also must

permanent spot at the end of my bed right away and always allows me to pluck
him from his hiding places or his path to adventures outdoors. We don't
know why he's been leery of men, strangers, and doorways, and we wonder if his
broken tail has an explanatory story. It took a Every evening we have our "sweet time" when he gives nose bumps and parks himself on my desk to snooze while I'm on the computer, and he sleeps on the bed near my feet every night. He's such a good boy. Maybe his first family will read this and feel good knowing that he's healthy and happy here with us and that we love him very much. |
