I lost my dog, Samson, in August of 2016... the joy he brought outweighed the loss I felt, so I knew I would want another dog eventually. Enter Dobby.

I lost my dog, Samson, in August of 2016. He was the center of my universe and only 8, so losing him to lymphoma was a complete and utter shock. That being said, the joy he brought everyone who had the privilege to meet him far outweighed the loss I felt, so I knew I would want another dog eventually. At the time I couldn't imagine seeing another dog playing in Sam's home, at least not for a long time. I still felt like I needed to get my dog "fix" in though, so I started volunteering at HSHV in October.

After only 3 weeks, I met Dobby (Maisy at the time) while cleaning the back holding area. He was still being held to see if his first owners showed up, but the moment I saw him, I was head over heels. I called back 3 or 4 times a day every day after that until he was finally available for adoption. I left work early to put him on hold until after he was sterilized and picked him up as soon as I possibly could. He is such a sweet little cuddle bug and everyone just adores him; we are so lucky to have him in our lives. We just celebrated his first (estimated) birthday and look forward to many, many more to come.
