We Celebrate the 1,000 & 1,001 Adoption of 2014!

Two kittens find a forever home together.

100th2014On Friday, May 16, 2014, the Sheffield Family of Ann Arbor came to the Humane Society of Huron Valley thinking about adopting a kitten.

This is the time of the year when we do see an influx of small kittens entering the shelter so they had a few to choose from. The Sheffield Family not only fell in love with one baby feline, but two! The adorable kittens, G Major, and Andante who were from the same litter, went to their new home together.

We celebrate every adoption at HSHV but we do like to bring special attention to every 500th adoption of a homeless animal. Adoption milestones like this help us all remember that our important work in sorely needed and is a reminder to everyone that adopting an animal should be the first option of every family. There are simple not enough homes for all of them.

We are very glad that the Sheffield Family made adoption their first option! Thank you.
